Here’s a hint: if any article that discusses Obamacare starts off calling it a “government takeover of healthcare,” they’re either being dishonest or they don’t know what they’re talking about, because Obamacare is anything but. If it was, the government would provide healthcare and it would come from your taxes. Instead, it’s set up so that everyone — including the young and healthy — must have insurance, thus driving insurance prices down. However, in a recent piece on Breitbart, they started off just that way, before going on and blaming Walmart’s recent decision not to cover new employees that work less than 30 hours a week on Obamacare.
First and foremost, let’s put blame for their decision where it should really be — on them. Walmart certainly has the resources to pay for health insurance for all their workers, even if they worked 10 hours a week. They pay extremely low (average yearly wages are just a touch over the federal poverty line) and purposely limit the number of full-time employees, further limiting costs while being able to report high numbers of employees.
The Breitbrat writer — excuse me, Breitbart — ends his article like this:
By making the fine for not providing health care cheaper than providing health care, this was always the plan: to encourage employers to send us to the government.
Remember how Obama’s big ObamaCare sell was, “You get to keep the health insurance you have”?
It was all a lie, a hustle, a con, a ruse…
But now it’s the law of the land … forever.
