Rick Santorum today delivered a sixteen-minute speech at the first day of the NRA‘s meeting in Houston, telling an estimated 70,000 members who attended that the NRA are “warriors” and the Second Amendment comes “from God.” Santorum attacked President Barack Obama, gun control activists, the French, Europe, Obamacare, the decline of religious institutions in America and Europe, to name a few targets.

Santorum told the audience that “… in America, rights come from God because you are a creation of that loving God and you have dignity because of that.”
Santorum called the coalition that elected and re-elected Barack Obama “a small minority” that has “infiltrated all these elite institutions,”
The former Pennsylvania Senator also claimed that President Obama is “trying to erode who we are,” and gun control activists “freely admit” that the current gun legislation that failed would not have stopped the Sandy Hook shootings that killed 20 children and six adults.
Santorum spent much of his speech attacking President Barack Obama, “whose vision for America unfortunately has been running wild for two centuries in Europe.” Santorum attacked France a lot, too, and compared the French Revolution to the American war for independence.
France’s culture “is a secular culture, it is a dying culture,” Santorum claimed, which would be of dramatic surprise to the French.
