Last night someone on Facebook cited Phil Ochs song, “Outside of a Small Circle of Friends”, in regard to our collective social indifference that enables people like the monster, who kidnapped and held those three young women, to live unquestioned in what was a sketchy environment.
I then thought of the racism Phil spoke out against and the mindless militarism that I wrote about just yesterday.
